What: Ice bird just made it colder. Sudden snow flurry. Go say hi!
Where: The grounds, or wherever.
When: February 27th

A large, blue bird with a long, flowing tail has perched itself on a branch or on the roof of the mansion. With its arrival comes a sudden snow flurry and gusting winds. There are no storm clouds out (well, no new ones, anyway), so where is this bizarre weather coming from? And why does it seem to circling around this strange bird?

It seems to be sitting quietly and without resolve, sullen and hardly moving. Maybe you should talk to it...

Oh. Lovely. Just when it looked like spring was on its way, a sudden blizzard showed up from out of nowhere. With no clouds in the sky, the bizarre weather clearly had an unnatural source. And it didn't take long to figure out what... One of the legendary birds of the Kanto region.

Mewtwo teleported behind the beast, arms crossed, unamused. "I might have known," he spoke inside Articuno's mind. "What are you doing here?"

The sudden voice in her head startled Articuno, breaking her train of thought. This could only be the work of a Psychic pokemon. She turned her head to face him, fluffing up her feathers with a shiver.

"Mewtwo."

Her greeting was polite yet cold.

"I could ask you the same thing," she said aloud, turning away from him. "Did you find your way here through the Sinnoh region also?"

Mewtwo was never exactly on good terms with the legendary birds. He wasn't exactly on good terms with ANYONE, really. But they knew each other enough to keep their distance from each other. Clearly that wasn't an option anymore.

"No," he answered. "My arrival here is still a mystery to me. However I would like nothing more than to get back. This place is filled with too many humans for my tastes... Where are your siblings? Did they arrive with you?"

Articuno shook her head.

"They have their own paths to follow," she replied. "just as I have mine."

Evidently her path had brought her here, though why and how was still a mystery to her. She wasn't sure how she felt about seeing Mewtwo again. His was a familiar face, though not a necessarily friendly one. She didn't have the volition to determine if that was a good or bad thing.

"So you're alone here," Mewtwo reasoned with a nod. It wasn't exactly hard to read between the lines. Articuno had no reason to trust him, just as he had no reason to trust her. But he knew there were those here who wouldn't hesitate to take advantage of her presence...

"...You may go about your business. But know that you are under my protection here," he said simply.

Articuno turned to face him once again, flashing him a quizzical look.

"What exactly do you need to protect me from?"

"What else?" he asked, as if the question itself was idiotic. "The humans here. Some who would no doubt exploit your power for their own ends, given the chance."

Articuno scanned the area in front of her. She hadn't noticed any humans upon her arrival, and none seemed to be perusing the grounds nearby at that moment. Still, she knew they had invaded nearly ever crevice of the world, so he was probably right.

"Mmmn," she acknowledged with a nod. "I'm aware of the ends to which they will go when tempted by the prospect of seizing a pokemon of my caliber. ...Of our caliber. I can assume your experiences mirror mine."

"You assume correctly," he replied. "I have encountered some dangerous humans here. There are some that are relatively harmless, but others... are not."

Articuno wasn't sure when or if she'd ever make it back to the Seafoam Islands. If she had to deal with greedy humans here, she might as well be prepared.

"Do the humans all live in this dilapidated building?" she asked, flapping a wing gently toward the mansion.

"They do," he explained, crossing his arms. At least she was being receptive to his warnings... Good. She could defend herself, so that was one less Pokemon to worry about. "It's the only dwelling on this island, so they huddle in it like Rattata."

The snowball hit Articuno in the back of the head. Startled, she frantically flew out of range in case any more strange things could surprise the crap out of her.

Disgruntled, she looked down to see... a mischievous tree person?

"You! I was resting comfortably! What do you want?"

"It's not obvious? A snowball fight, duh!" Duh.
