What: CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL
Where: Outside on the mansion grounds where there are cherry blossoms that have magically not finished blooming yet this late into April
When: RIGHT NOW???
Warnings: Rated S for SHOJO

Stadiums and tournaments and rankings were all well and good, but they were lacking things that Flurrie felt were far too important to go ignored. Style! Beauty! Grace! Culture! This place needed more of it. Fortunately, with spring in full force, she had a fantastic idea to bring everyone together to celebrate just those things!

And so, a message appears on the bulletin board:



Underneath it was more information, including dates and a request to contact her if the reader were interested in hosting a booth at the festival.

When the day arrived for the festivities, the mansion's inhabitants will find a lovely grove of cherry blossoms decorated with streamers, flower arrangements, and numerous booths waiting for them. Where did Flurrie get all this? It is a mystery.

((OOC: Open mingle log! The booths can be absolutely anything you want- food, games, stuff for sale, magic tricks, etc, and your character is free to host one if they would be so inclined. It's not as big as past festivals obviously, but Flurrie tried.))

Sakura Grove, Act 1 (Open)

Sonic has a love of landscapes like this. The paths are a raceway, and the limbs of the trees his own personal cotton-candy playground. To say he was everywhere at once would be hyperbole, but descriptive. He's over at the snack tables, bouncing from tree to tree and sliding down the branches, hanging out at the arena for some target training (Wait he can't fly how the hell did he even GET over there?!) Messing around with the game tables, napping in the grove, back at the snack tables again...

He's more than willing to talk, assuming you can catch him.

Sakura Grove, Act 2 (Private to Blaze)

Also yeah, Blaze, he's looking for you. You need to SEE this!

Rene was enjoying the food, and it brought a smile to her that some of her dried fruits were being consumed. She'd heard at least one "yum" over them.

She reached to grab a banana when a gloved hand reached for the same one. "Oh! Go ahead," she offered.

"--Oh hey, thanks!"

He takes a morsel of the dried banana. Since they'd been left on the island, little luxuries have been light, and this is a delight. Also, Hedgie just like banana.

"Who made these?" He asks cluelessly. "These are really good!"

"I did!" she grins. "I'm glad you like them! I've never dried banana before."

"How many other fruit have you tried?" He asks, ears perking.

[garmentgoddess]

"Uh..." She counted off on her fingers. "I dried some apples, some pears, made orange marmalade...I guess coconuts kind of dry themselves if you shred them...I haven't worked with a lot of the fruit here before, to be honest."

"'S good enough for me!" He replies with a thumbs-up. "Oh hey, by the way, what's your name?"

"Rene Randall!" She returned the gesture. "Yours?"

"I'm Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog!"

The four-foot-nothing hedgehog reaches up a hand to shake.

"Hey, you were around at the Academy, right? I was only there for a coupla semesters, before everything got blown up."

She shook his hand in return. "No, I showed up here looking for it. I was going to be a home economics teacher."

Sakura Grove, Act 2

Sonic eventually found her, and... Oh. She was dressed in a long violet kimono. Clearly she'd visited Flurrie's stand earlier. She smiled when he finally tracked her down. "Hi, Sonic," she said when the blue blur zipped up to her, the wind rustling her ponytail and the hem of her kimono.

"Hey Bl--Wow!"

He has to stop for a moment and just stare.

"You look... you look really pretty!"

He could probably have come up with better adjectives than that, but it was true. She looked like the petals had decided to swoop down en masse and construct a beautiful girl out of themselves.

"Ah... Thank you," she said, smiling through a blush that only got hotter. It still felt good to hear compliments like that, even as uneloquent as it was. "Come to enjoy the festival? You're in a bit of a hurry for that," she remarked.

[mach_n_roll]

"You know me, I'm always in a hurry." He jokes. "But what I was really doing is trying to find you, to spend some time with you at this festival. I saw all these blossoms, and immediately thought of you."

[vela_nova]

"You associate me with the cherry blossoms...?" Blaze asked, red tinging her cheeks at the thought. She walked up next to him, sliding her arm into his. "You're sweet. I'd love to spend the day with you here..."

For a moment, there's a single worrying notion that he said something wrong before she takes his arm. Relief washes over when she does.

"Okay, let's try the games! I wanna win you somethin'!"

So he starts out towards the tiny row of game booths near the side of the mansion.

Blaze followed, nodding in approval. "Sounds like fun." She smirked a bit, and then added, "Who knows? Maybe I'll win YOU something..."
