Rouge was getting antsy. She hadn't been able to stop thinking about Knuckles since they parted ways practically suffocating in hormones. She really liked what they talked about at that carnival, what they did together. She wanted more. Much more. They had agreed to meet up there on the roof sometime in the afternoon, so rather than play it casual and show up fashionably late, she perched herself up top immediately after noon in case he showed up early. Their date couldn't come soon enough for her.

She tapped her knee restlessly. She knew things would probably change between them, but she didn't care. Even if their friendship was demolished, she knew she wouldn't be able to live with herself if she didn't see this thing through. And she hadn't been with someone who seemed to care about her that much in such a long time... or if anyone had cared about her that much ever...

Knuckles hadn't been able to stop thinking about her since they parted company in the carnival, and how much he wanted to see her again. It was all he could think about, while he ate, while he trained, and it was only regular cold showers that kept him from bursting then and there. What was happening to him? He never even thought of women as a priority for him ever before. Rouge had incredible power over him, he quickly realized, and he didn't exactly dislike that fact.

He suggested a surprise date up on the roof of the mansion. If they were going to give this dating thing a try, he wanted to do his best. There wasn't really much to really do in a place like this, unfortunately. But that wasn't going to stop HIM. He grabbed some food in a basket, and grabbed a blanket. He even tried to dress up nicely for her! Though that part didn't quite go as well as he wanted. A pair of slacks and a nice button up shirt seemed casual enough for a date with a classy woman like Rouge, but the shirt didn't exactly last very long. One flex and the sleeves exploded on him. It was too late to do anything about it now, so he was certainly a sight to behold when he arrived, climbing up the side of the mansion to get to the roof, basket slung over one arm, blanket over the other, and not a sleeve in sight to hide his muscular arms.

Truth be told, he was surprised to see her already there waiting for him. He hoped to have a couple of minutes to set up before she got there, but as he heaved himself up on to the rooftop, he just smiled at the sight of her. He couldn't help it. He was just so happy to see her there... "Rouge! There you are! I, uh... I hope a picnic is good with you!" he said, setting down the basket and flicking the blanket out to give them a space to sit comfortably, trying not to stare at her. Sweet Chaos was she gorgeous.
