Rene hung the last of the party decorations over the door and quickly put the ladder away. The tables were set with various edibles, the curtains were crisp and ironed, the paper decorations were festive and cute, and the year was about to change.

2017 though? What a strange number. She wondered what their calendar was based on. No matter, a celebration was always a good time.

"If I had to guess, I'd say rum, whiskey and bad decisions..." He answers facetiously. "Maybe with a hint of lime."

It was ever apparent to him, and he was happy for it. Taking chances was something he never regretted, and he was glad he took this one. Her warmth made him smile. He held her around her middle as they gently swayed together, and as the moment came close, he said, "Would you like a better view of the show?" he asked, gesturing that he could put her up on his shoulders if she wanted.

Oh if only you knew, Ronnae... Sufficed to say if Shantae had approval, she really WOULD be exploding out of that dress. But until then.

"All right, I'll go on ahead. But don't be gone too long! Don't wanna miss anything," Shantae told her, smiling. To prove there was nothing wrong with her feelings on the matter, she tugged Ronnae in and gave her another quick kiss. "See you soon!" she added as she hurried off.

"You really thought of everything," Jolt laughed, taking the glass from her and toasting her. "To a great new year!" he agreed, sipping his drink after the glasses clinked together. He reached over and took her hand, squeezing it as the countdown began.

"10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1..."

"I mean they grew me in a lab. They bred me to be the ultimate weapon. Tampered with me. Used me. Tormented me. They wanted a weapon? That's what they got. And they learned the folly of their ways once I was through with them."

"...Thank you, Gordon," she replied, giving him a small smile. "I do like you too. Although I didn't think my appearance would ever be called constructive interference," she added with a quick laugh.

But then she blinks. "...I had not even considered that would be a possibility..." she said truthfully, face reddening.

Shantae took another look at it, and then shrugged. "...Eh, we don't need to be anywhere in the morning! Why not? Fill me up again!"

"Ohohoho," That piqued Naghtgale's interest for sure and she finally stood to walk around Mewtwo as if studying. "Well, well, well... So the rumors were true. Now I'm hoping you gave them hell for the attrocities they commited hm?"

"Me leiste la mente," Mawrow smiled up at him. "A better view would be wonderful. Give me a few to make sure the tables are stocked and we can go okay?" After a quick squeeze, Mawrow went and made sure there was plenty of food and drinks for everyone and then some. Just in case the poor dears were extra hungry. Once she was sure of their well being, she walked back to Ujarak.

"I won't, I just need to do a few more adjus--" And there was another quick kiss and Ronnae's chest tightened. She stared as Shantae left and she wondered if she should have done what she did... Wouldn't be the first time she ruined something good because of her feelings and this was definitely something she didn't want to interfere in... Worst case scenario, she'd just be a recluse, nothing new.

Picking up her dress a little, she hurried off to make sure the systems were ready and locked to blow. It'd be a year to remember, that's for sure.

"BLAST OFF!" Riwane finished the countdown with a tackle-makeout attack that was right on the mark. She took a quick breather to laugh and look down at Jolt from the prone position. "Happy new year Sparkbutt."

"I killed the scientists and razed their lab," Mewtwo answered simply and plainly. There wasn't a shred of remorse about him over the actions he committed.

When Mawrow returned, Ujarak was happy to help her up onto his broad shoulders, giving her an excellent view. It was almost time, the fireworks would go off in just a few moments. The timing was perfect. "Comfortable up there?" he asked with amusement.

Suddenly Jolt's chair was very much crowded, as Riwane practically tackled him for a big kiss. He spilled his drink, but he didn't care. He hugged around her middle as they made out in the chair for a few moments, and grinned broadly up at her. "Happy new year, Firetail."

They'd enjoy the fireworks and the make outs and the drinking and they both knew where it would lead them. All in all, Riwane thought it was a pretty darn good start to a promising new year.

"Good," she flexed her claws and narrowed their eyes. "Would have done that and more. They deserved every bit of it." Though now her attention turned fully to Mewtwo and she strode up to them at full height. "I guess you're not as bad as I initially thought, maybe we could do much together." Or nothing at all which would be fine with her too.

Mawrow laughed as she was picked up and placed atop of him like a child. It made her much happier than she thought it would and she made sure to made herself comfortable. "Actually, much more than I thought it be. You're a well build Tauren for all I know of them." she chuckled.

"Hmph," Mewtwo huffed. "Like what?"

"Well, I pride myself on keeping in top physical form," he explained with a chuckle of his own.

Their eyes were drawn skyward as the countdown began and finally ended. Cheers went up around them, and in moments the fireworks show started, erupting into the sky patterns of color.

"It sure feels that way," she smirked squeezing his shoulders. "Oh my," she chuckled before looking up to the skies once they begun. "Ah, the signals of a new year, another challenge conquered for many of our young ones. I'm hoping they have a good year again. They've gone through enough."

"Indeed so," Ujarak added with a smile. "But so long as we're around to support them, we can ensure they have a good year," he said in response.

"A partnership," she mused. "If you think you're doing well now, two like-minded mons can do much, much more." Feeling more daring she practically slithered around his body, now with an arm around his shoulder. "If it doesn't work, we can go our seperate ways once again and besides..."

She leaned closer and whispered, "Don't you feel lonely?"

"And we will, you can bet on that." she smiled and nodded reassuredly. "Maybe we'll get even more people show up. And if they're anywhere near as nice as the ones we've gotten recently, pues entonces si estamos muy bien!" she chuckled cheerily.

"And if we do, I'm certain you'll make them feel right at home," he laughed. "You have a wonderful warmth about you... It radiates off of you. You have quite the big heart..."

This... was a very new experience for Mewtwo. A female approaching him like this, or hell, ANYONE approaching him like this was unheard of. And yet here she was. He was silent as his hyper intelligent mind tried to process what was happening, as her arm slithered around his shoulder. "...I would be lying if I said I didn't," he admitted finally. "A partnership... might not be so bad..."
