It was kind of silly that he was surprised about her lack of fight and decided the best course of action was to wrangle the rest of it out of her. In his mind, this was for the best, though. She wouldn't spend time lamenting on the little things. Like the possibility that Gran, the girls and Pa maybe, possibly all died when the moon hit.
