What: CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL
Where: Outside on the mansion grounds where there are cherry blossoms that have magically not finished blooming yet this late into April
When: RIGHT NOW???
Warnings: Rated S for SHOJO

Stadiums and tournaments and rankings were all well and good, but they were lacking things that Flurrie felt were far too important to go ignored. Style! Beauty! Grace! Culture! This place needed more of it. Fortunately, with spring in full force, she had a fantastic idea to bring everyone together to celebrate just those things!

And so, a message appears on the bulletin board:



Underneath it was more information, including dates and a request to contact her if the reader were interested in hosting a booth at the festival.

When the day arrived for the festivities, the mansion's inhabitants will find a lovely grove of cherry blossoms decorated with streamers, flower arrangements, and numerous booths waiting for them. Where did Flurrie get all this? It is a mystery.

((OOC: Open mingle log! The booths can be absolutely anything you want- food, games, stuff for sale, magic tricks, etc, and your character is free to host one if they would be so inclined. It's not as big as past festivals obviously, but Flurrie tried.))

"Ooh, it's been a while since I've had tea. I know a guy, a butler, who said he'd show me how to serve it all proper, but eh." Heinz had come up with excuses after finding out that her best friend was a Darscen. It was disappointing to discover that about her classmate, but old habits were hard to break.

"Want to join me for something? You pick."

"Uh..." She counted off on her fingers. "I dried some apples, some pears, made orange marmalade...I guess coconuts kind of dry themselves if you shred them...I haven't worked with a lot of the fruit here before, to be honest."

"Ah, that's gorgeous." While Rene always wished that Magari was at her side, this was a good sight to see alone too.

"'S good enough for me!" He replies with a thumbs-up. "Oh hey, by the way, what's your name?"

[megabuster]

"Hey! A costume stand!" Rock called out upon seeing the booth. He took Lucca's hand and tugged her towards it. "C'mon! This should be fun!"

Sakura Grove, Act 2

Sonic eventually found her, and... Oh. She was dressed in a long violet kimono. Clearly she'd visited Flurrie's stand earlier. She smiled when he finally tracked her down. "Hi, Sonic," she said when the blue blur zipped up to her, the wind rustling her ponytail and the hem of her kimono.

"Rene Randall!" She returned the gesture. "Yours?"

[mach_n_roll]

"I'm Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog!"

The four-foot-nothing hedgehog reaches up a hand to shake.

"Hey, you were around at the Academy, right? I was only there for a coupla semesters, before everything got blown up."

[mach_n_roll]

"Hey Bl--Wow!"

He has to stop for a moment and just stare.

"You look... you look really pretty!"

He could probably have come up with better adjectives than that, but it was true. She looked like the petals had decided to swoop down en masse and construct a beautiful girl out of themselves.

"Wh--?" Is all she can say as she's enthusiastically tugged into the booth. Oh hi there Rock.

"What would we dress up as?!" She replies, staring up at the top-hats and viking helmets arrayed on a top shelf. "I mean, what goes with cherry blossoms?"

[megabuster]

Rock looked around the racks curiously, flitting about them like a hummingbird. "Well, when Dr. Light took me and Roll to a symposium in Japan a few years ago, it was springtime, and the cherry blossoms were in bloom. He took us to a festival. And we wore something like..." He spotted something nearby, and his eyes lit up. He grabbed a pair of more traditional outfits for them. "These!"

"Ah... Thank you," she said, smiling through a blush that only got hotter. It still felt good to hear compliments like that, even as uneloquent as it was. "Come to enjoy the festival? You're in a bit of a hurry for that," she remarked.

[mach_n_roll]

"You know me, I'm always in a hurry." He jokes. "But what I was really doing is trying to find you, to spend some time with you at this festival. I saw all these blossoms, and immediately thought of you."

[tempus_fixit]

"...Huh. That doesn't look too bad!" She replies, relaxing a bit as she took the more colorful of the outfits, a riot of orange and yellow petals captured on fabric. She drapes it over herself experimentally. "I like it. Okay, let's try them on."

She's assuming it will be easy to wear such a thing. This is not necessarily the case, but she heads with him to the changing rooms all the same.

"I think it'll look great on you!" Rock declared, beaming happily once she relaxed. He wanted her to have as much fun as he was, after all! Hopefully Flurrie would be able to help them out. Otherwise Rock knew how to tie a yukata, he could probably help her... He stepped into a changing room to get into his own outfit first.

"You associate me with the cherry blossoms...?" Blaze asked, red tinging her cheeks at the thought. She walked up next to him, sliding her arm into his. "You're sweet. I'd love to spend the day with you here..."

"Wha...? If you didn't summon it, why did a moon decide to hit YOUR school, of all places?"

Because that's really weird. Jet was glad he wasn't there to see it. And he was glad Wave was still alive...

He sulked as he brushed the spilled drink off his chest fluff.

"I came looking for you, but all that was left of the school was a giant, creepy black dome of energy or something. I thought you guys might have put up a shield and were inside. But this doesn't look like the school at all!"

He gestured to the sky and back at the mansion.

"Where the heck ARE we, Wave?!"

Rouge had nothing better to do, honestly.

"Sure, why not? Let's try the tea."

She hopped down off her booth and landed gracefully on the ground.

"Their peppermint tea is really good. I haven't tried the others myself, though. Guilty!" she admitted as they approached the tea booth.

She dives into her own changing room soon after, full of determination to get pretty.

There's quite a long pause. Long enough Rock to finish up, in fact. Eventually:

"Uh. Rock? How d'you tie this thing? Is it in the front?" Wafts over the partition.

"That's a good question! Our old physics teacher mentioned something about an evil mask behind it, but we never actually found anything like that. I'm pretty sure was just losing his marbles... anyway, we all woke up afterwards with a note from the Hands telling us how much we sucked at saving the world. You can kinda guess how well that went down."

[megabuster]

"Ah!" He said as he finished up in his own dressing room. He emerged from it, and immediately set off to Lucca's. "It's a little complicated. Here, I can help you do that!" He exclaimed, opening the curtain without even thinking about it.

He froze in his tracks. It was as if a chorus of robotic cherubs decided now was the right moment to fill his head with the static blare of their trumpets. The sight of Lucca looking so pretty always managed to somehow derail his operating system, in a very good way. He caught himself staring after a moment. "...Right! Sorry... Do you need help?" He asked, embarrassed that once again, she made him lose composure. Love was a wonderful little bit of fuzzy logic.

"How did you even FIND me?" Wave asked. "Last time I saw you we were at Gigan Rocks checking out some ruins. Not that I don't appreciate you coming looking for me, but... How?"

Swathed in yellow and orange flowers, she startles reflexively when he opens the curtain, then notices her boyfriend's wide-eyed look and blushes. "Yeah, thanks." She says, smiling as she tucks a strand of hair behind her ear. She had just about figured out that the Obi goes around her waist, but the bow was a complete mystery. She hands him the errant ties, and flaps her sleeves up for him to reach around her waist.

"You look really nice by the way, Rock." She adds.

[megabuster]

"It's not exactly the most straightforward thing out there," Rock said, getting behind her to finish tying up the obi. "I did this for Roll last time too," he explained, focusing on his task until she had a lovely bow behind her. "There!" He exclaimed, giving her a hug when he was done.
