Who: Cyrus and YOU
What: Talking
Where: Around
When: October 8-9
Cyrus hadn't felt well lately. His forced change of heart was beginning to wear on him, and he found himself confronted more and more with the echoes of the past. The world had to change. It had to. And he had to bring it about.
This world was fresh and new, but already he could sense that it was more and more illogical to attempt to mold it into that ideal.
People had not changed.
Cyrus had not changed.
And as before, he had taken to wandering the grounds with a notebook, furiously writing down everything he thought and muttering to himself nearly constantly. Only this time he wasn't blank or expressionless, seeming more sad than anything else.
And he continued to write. Go talk to him, will you?

"...Are you okay?" she asked simply, cutting to the point.

A new beginning for everything, what he had said on the Spear Pillar all that time ago. His writing hand twitched, penning words in midair. "It has to be real, and those here would still deny it..."

"Perhaps you had best start at the beginning," she suggested, hoping to get something more useful to her out of him.

He wrote more down before seeming to calm considerably. "The world must be set right. This new world...it is still not the ideal world I seek. Not so long as certain forces exist, it cannot be that complete and perfect world I fought for..."

She had never seen his old self, not fully. Post-Helio, post his entrapment in that strange and terrifying place, he had emerged a nearly entirely new person. He had thought he had changed, that he could take joy in the world. But joy was selfish. He was selfish, and he had to purify himself from it.
"...Rosalina." She brought Cynthia so much to mind that it had taken him a moment to remember her name. "You will aid me in creating that new and complete world."

When he turned back to her, his eyes were unfocused, almost as though he was looking through her. "I will find what power holds this world together, and I will use that to create that ideal. This world, no worthless world, can be permitted to exist. A new one will be created on this spot. And you, lady of the cosmos, will assist me."

If he could prove himself, anyway.

There was more boldness in his voice now, more drive and passion.
"I must find what holds this world together. Goddess...yes, you hold the cosmos itself in your palm. Yet you possess little power over it. I must find the root of that power, and you will aid me."

She lifted her star wand, and waved it in Cyrus's direction. A sparkling of energy at the tip, and she started to alter the gravitational forces acting on Cyrus, lifting him off the ground.
"Even you can be as stubborn as my children at times," she said. "If you won't get some rest, perhaps I need to put you to bed like them."

He never would have asked that before. It was part of his plan to attract dimwits who wouldn't question him. Such people were disposable and wouldn't have to be included in his plan. But now, with what little population there was to go around, only valuable people could be approached. In the absence of Voile, Rhys, Sable...
He couldn't afford to think about them. He would see them again soon enough.
But for now, he had to make sure everyone he included in his plan knew their duty.

But no matter. He did need rest.
"Fine..."
Somehow the door had opened. Had he left it open or was that part of her power?

And she quietly closed the door behind her, leaving him to his thoughts and his supposed rest.

There was more time in which to accomplish things here. This world had not degenerated nearly as far yet. But it would, he was sure of that.
He slept nearly twice as long as usual, and didn't dream.
