He was starting to freak her out more than a little bit, and she felt very unsettled by his manic behaviour. She didn't show it outwardly. She was good about hiding her feelings behind a serious facade. She wanted to find some way to talk him down off this ledge he'd set himself on, and attempted to keep him talking. "And... how would you propose to create this new world?" she asked him, looking for some opening to try and talk him down.
