Rene hung the last of the party decorations over the door and quickly put the ladder away. The tables were set with various edibles, the curtains were crisp and ironed, the paper decorations were festive and cute, and the year was about to change.

2017 though? What a strange number. She wondered what their calendar was based on. No matter, a celebration was always a good time.

She smiled back and nodded, offering a small appetizer sammy she grabbed from the nearby tray.

"It sure wus one heckuva ride that's for sure.... Rollercoaster even, but y'know whut?" she hugged him close, "I'm glad we're together."

Jolt eagerly nommed onto the sandwich as she presented it, smiling broadly. He took it out of his mouth to respond, hugging her back. "Same here," he told her. "Long as we're together, we can take on anything!"

Riwane laughed and shook her head. "Well, dunno nothin' 'bout being able ta take on anythin'. But you sure bet yer ass that we'll damn well try!" And that was the truth!

"And that's the important part," he added with a grin. "But enough sap! Let's ring out the old year in style! Anything you wanna do before the clock ticks over? Now's the time!" he suggested brightly.

"Your guess's good as mine hun. Plenty ta do, just a matter of what first." She grinned, "I s'pose you can pick first then, jus' this once."

Jolt smirked devilishly. "Well, I've got a few ideas... But they might be better to save for later in the evening," he teased with a grin. "Might not wanna come back after them!"

"As much as I'd luv sum time alone jus' the two of us in celebration. I'm thinkin' it'd be nice ta hang 'round with our folks at least till the time drops to tha new year y'know?" She did smirk back. "Afterwards though, fair game fur anythin' else." she winked.

"That was my thought exactly," Jolt chuckled, nudging her with his elbow. "So since we've got a few hours to kill before the ball drops, you pick first while I try to get my mind out of the gutter!"

"Nuh uh spark butt, y'ain't shoving this on me. Ah said you git first picks, or am I gunna hafta find someone else to wow me pre-midnight?" she grinned mischievously trying to stiffle a laugh that kept brewing.

"Okay, if you're gonna twist my arm like that..." he smirked, teasing her as he reached in to tickle her sides playfully. "Let's hit the dance floor and light this joint up!"

"You know me way too well sugar," she grinned and grabbed his hand just before pretty much dragging him full speed towards the dance area.

"We've been together long enough, I ought to," Jolt laughed, rushing out to dance with her, hands on her hips as they started to sway to the music. Their first meeting was at a night club, where they danced the night away. Dancing was in her blood, and Jolt loved watching her move. It was a challenge to keep up to her, but he loved himself a challenge. Probably one of the reasons he loved her so much.

"Good, you bettah," she laughed as she swayed to the beat, hips girating like they had a mind of their own and her tail flame made playful shadows on the dance floor.

She definitely looked like she was having fun and it wasn't rare to see others enjoy her infectious good time and join in on the dance floor. She smiled over at Jolt cheerily, this was a good time.

His hands went to her hips to hold her as she swayed, moving along with her and smiling broadly as the flicker of her tail flame illuminated things and made the shadows dance around them. Her good mood was infectious, and it was impossible for him to be upset around her when she was like this. "Now THIS is a party," he commented.

"Jus' wait till midnight sugar," she winked and spun away only to come back in a flurry of embers around her right into his hands again and locking her gaze to his with a flirty smile.

"I'm counting the seconds," Jolt teased right back, sliding his arms around her to hold her close as they swayed to the music together, the embers circling them and fluttering down like flower petals in the air around them. "You are on FIRE," he joked with a wide smirk.

"Well I am hot stuff at all times you know," she grinned as she picked up the beat and danced more energetically. "Think you can handle the heat Sparky?" she winked.

"Hey," he said, grinning broadly as he kept apace with her, grabbing her hands as she sped up, "I can handle the heat. Any time, day or night. And if you need some proof, then I'll be happy to show you!"

As if to prove his point, he released her hands, gripped her waist, and lifted her up into the air, spinning her around leaving wisps of fire from her tail in a circle around them before setting her back down again.

He actually surprised her a bit with that move which made her feel ecstatic. A burst of cheerful laughter escaped her lips and her tail flame only grew stronger leaving a trail of fire in the air that made it seem a bit surreal in the dance floor. After a beat, she practically slithered around his body to stand beside him and smile before going back to dancing.

"Not bad Sparks, not bad."

"What can I say? I felt inspired," he teased happily, taking hold of her hips as they danced together. "It's nice to have friends who keep you on your toes!" he joked.

"Or partners who can keep up with ya," she smirked as she picked up into a much more mobile dance routine knowing that Jolt would be right there with her.

True to form, there he was, following right behind her. He could keep up with her, limitless ball of energy that he was. He laughed as he chased her around the dance floor, grinning and reaching for her as she kept just out of his reach.

She playfully continued the cat and mouse-styled dance routine, always keeping one step ahead willingly as they made waves through the small crowd. Eventually however, the beats slowed down some and she spun to a halt, sweat glistening on her exposed skin and her tailflame giving off a mellow glow.

"I luv you Jolt." she stated simply and yet with so much emotion behind it.

And when they stopped, Jolt was finally allowed to catch up with her. He brought his arms around her, kissing her softly. "And I love you, Riwane," he replied, smiling at her with such admiration.

"Good, don't you forgit it now," she joked with a joyous laugh and a tight hug linked to a quick kiss. She grabbed his hand and started to drag him away. "C'mon now, I wana see the show from up high. Maybe one of them nice balconies."
