Rene hung the last of the party decorations over the door and quickly put the ladder away. The tables were set with various edibles, the curtains were crisp and ironed, the paper decorations were festive and cute, and the year was about to change.

2017 though? What a strange number. She wondered what their calendar was based on. No matter, a celebration was always a good time.

Not according to Mewtwo. But he didn't need to say it. Dark's resistance to Psychic meant he couldn't just prod into her mind the way he normally would. It was... a unique experience to get to know someone in a way other than getting it all at once in his head. "Indeed. Would that it were so easy to liberate all Pokemon everywhere..." He shook his head. "But that's a dream."

"A dumb dream," she retorted back. "A fool's errand anyways... Just look at them." she pointed. "You seem like you've been observing a while, do you really think they'd WANT to be 'liberated? They've already become sheep, most of them."

"To be able to rescue them from a life of servitude... I don't think that's a foolish dream," he said. "But still... A dream nonetheless." A glance back at her. "You do not seem to be one who believes in dreams one way or the other."

"I've had my fair share of failures and broken dreams and promises to have given up on believing in hope." she stated bitterly. "Now I just do my thing when and however I want to."

"That's your prerogative," Mewtwo responded. "But I want to know. What did humans do to you to make you so angry?"

Nightgale stayed silent for a long while, her thoughts in turmoil as she ventured through memories too painful to retell. Eventually however she figured what harm could there really be in at least saying something to someone with similar seething hatred?

"I lost my family to them... And my pack..." she sighed, her voice distant. "And then I allowed myself to trust again and ended up unsurprisingly betrayed yet again."

"Hmph. I wish I could say that was an uncommon story with humans," Mewtwo said. "But if I did, I'd be lying. I am sorry for your loss."

Gale shrugged, trying to act like it didn't hurt, and that she didn't appreciate it, but at that time it was hard to do so.

"Yeah, well, I'm not letting something like that happen again." Not while she could help it.

"Good. We cannot allow ourselves to continue to be victims," Mewtwo replied. He felt like perhaps putting a hand on her shoulder, but... He just wasn't that kind of mon.

Good move Mewtwo, it saved you the punch you'd get from her.

"Yeah, screw that."

A moment of silence to let her get back to today and she felt curious about something.

"So, what about you? What did those fucks do to you?"

"Hmph." Mewtwo scoffed for a moment, crossing his arms. "They created me."

Gale was confused for a moment, looking at him with a brow raise. "Created you? As in made you who you are or?" Or more literal in the sense that they somehow were able to create a Pokemon and if so, then the myths and heresay were real and there really was a created Pokemon.

"I mean they grew me in a lab. They bred me to be the ultimate weapon. Tampered with me. Used me. Tormented me. They wanted a weapon? That's what they got. And they learned the folly of their ways once I was through with them."

"Ohohoho," That piqued Naghtgale's interest for sure and she finally stood to walk around Mewtwo as if studying. "Well, well, well... So the rumors were true. Now I'm hoping you gave them hell for the attrocities they commited hm?"

"I killed the scientists and razed their lab," Mewtwo answered simply and plainly. There wasn't a shred of remorse about him over the actions he committed.

"Good," she flexed her claws and narrowed their eyes. "Would have done that and more. They deserved every bit of it." Though now her attention turned fully to Mewtwo and she strode up to them at full height. "I guess you're not as bad as I initially thought, maybe we could do much together." Or nothing at all which would be fine with her too.

"Hmph," Mewtwo huffed. "Like what?"

"A partnership," she mused. "If you think you're doing well now, two like-minded mons can do much, much more." Feeling more daring she practically slithered around his body, now with an arm around his shoulder. "If it doesn't work, we can go our seperate ways once again and besides..."

She leaned closer and whispered, "Don't you feel lonely?"

This... was a very new experience for Mewtwo. A female approaching him like this, or hell, ANYONE approaching him like this was unheard of. And yet here she was. He was silent as his hyper intelligent mind tried to process what was happening, as her arm slithered around his shoulder. "...I would be lying if I said I didn't," he admitted finally. "A partnership... might not be so bad..."

A friendship was unlikely, not easy anyways with the way they seemed to work their personalities but an alliance was definitely worth it as far as Nightgale was concerned. In the end, she could use him just as well as she knew he could use her and that was fine as long as it was mutually beneficial. "Gooood" she sensually hissed near his ear as she grazed her cheek against his before slithering over his body until she was in front and facing him.

"Here's to a powerful partnership." she grinned mischievously.

This was very new, but rather pleasant. He didn't know whether they COULD be friends. He didn't know if anyone could be his friend, truly. But they shared a fair bit in common. And solitude did wear on him... Her proximity was intoxicating. Perhaps it was her Dark nature overpowering his own nature. But he liked it.

"A very powerful partnership," he replied huskily, eyes narrowing as he stared down into hers.

Dark clawed hands grasped his chin unnaturally gently as her cheshire grin played on the shadows created around them. "Well then partner, let's start the year right hm? We've been lonely for a while and I can think of a few things to seal this truce." she was now dangerously close, her lips a mere breath away and her words made small breaths of sweet and spicy swirl around their proximity.
