MAIL CALL!
Who: Everyone, new and old.
What: Mail call!
Where: The Mansion and surrounding courtyard area.
When: February 25
Warnings: Probably some swearing and not happy people.
So you've gone through the shock and confusion of waking up in a new and unknown location. There are some familiar faces around, along with some new ones. And it would appear this is not the afterlife. (At least, not one that you are aware of!) Taking matters into your own hands you've managed to cleanse, uplift and make the area more livable and have even begun settling in. It's not that bad around these parts, even for an unfamiliar piece of land floating somewhere in the void.
However, after a nice long sleep you wake up and feel an odd weight on top of you. As you look down you notice an odd letter and yet for such a small item there is an odd pressure and weight from it. There's no sender but it is definitely addressed to you...
"Dear Former Students and Staff
Smash Academy was founded to find and train the best and brightest, not to mention the strongest, from across much of the multiverse for one sole purpose: Saving the world. All worlds, in fact.
We regret to inform you that you have failed your final assignment and in doing so, allowed the world in which we all dwelled to be destroyed by the Moon. We attempted to prepare you for the worst and while you all showed promise, in the end, the world still fell. Despite this, we spent too much time collecting and tempering you to let this event stop the progress you've made and so we will be continuing your training here, in this new place. We hope you have found your accommodations to your liking and hope that you will use this time to become stronger and learn more to help you in future ordeals. This is not the end, but it is coming and only you can stop it...
Oh! To help improve this approach we will also be separating the groups into different houses! And you'll be competing in tournaments twice a year! How exciting! There will be competitions to advance your training and we're sure you'll give it your best to prove that your house is the number one amongst all! Attached is the House name and room you'll be assigned to. Work hard! Or we'll cast you into the void between worlds! No, just kidding.Or Are We.
Yours Sincerely
-Master Hand and Crazy.
PS: Go take a look to the North West. You'll like what you see, we guarantee it.*
*If you don't like what you see.... too bad.
House Roster"
Take a look to the North West as the letter suggested and you'll see the Stadium, burning bright like a diamond in the sky. Spot lights and strobe lights and fairy lights all ablaze. This is the first new Island beyond the Home Island that's become visible.

Let's look at the stadium
His feelings could be summed up as "the fuck is this".]

Letter ... reactions?...
Mesprit was not in the mood for this shit. It wasn't enough that everything's gone to heck. Now she was getting NAGGED about it, too? This was just NOT what she needed right now. At all.
Her sadness immediately snapped into a frustrated anger. She glanced at the stadium and turned back to her letter.
"This stinks! And I'm in the 'Gunner' section? Why? UUUGH!!" She crumpled the paper into a ball and threw it to the ground. If she knew any Fire type moves, she'd definitely let it ablaze right now.

All they get for all of that is "They failed."
Fuck that. No, fuck THEM. This letter proved that the Hands KNEW what was going on, and therefore could have informed them earlier. Could have, but didn't. They were basically playing around with every life on that damned planet, and not everyone got out alive. Clearly the pile of crap they're showcasing in this letter is just the tip of some scatological iceberg that he can only begin to guess the depth of. This shit infuriates him in a way that only one other man really had before, and the last he saw of HIM, he was eradicated in every way that can be described in modern science. Gordon rips up the letter once he finishes with a scowl, and grabs the roster.
... ...Brawler? Really? Well they're going to be disappointed, because the only punch he's interested in is the recoil of a shotgun. If it brought him closer to the Hands, though, he'll play along. They're officially at the top of his "to punch" list.

She stares at the far island as it twinkles in the twilight void. It was weirdly beautiful. It was also... kind of far away.
"... ... How're we supposed to get over there?"
no subject
"I guess this is another 'test'." He sounded less than impressed.
no subject
there are two kinds of people"I dunno about you guys, but I didn't sign up for this."

"No shit," he replied, "I would hardly think any of us did. I definitely didn't. The final magical middle finger from what's left of FDC." Green shot the distant island a middle finger in kind.
"Thanks again, Hands."

When it dawned on him that he was in fact awake, he thought it had to be some sort of prank.
But even the thought that it COULD be real...it brought a jolt to his stomach.
no subject
Had Blue always been there? Maybe. She was definitely there now, coming up to Green's side with a hand on her hip. Her eyes were trained on the twinkling, glittering lights in the distance.
"Is there someone there if the lights are on?"
no subject
"Assist...?" he drawled, turning the statement into a question at the last moment. If you called dancing around on a stage in cute outfits something that could someday save all worlds, then okay. He could be down with that.

Yeah to say she was feeling crummy was one hell of an understatement and she looked it too.
At first she didn't even notice Rio, she looked like the walking dead honestly. She's definitely seen brighter days.
no subject
It took him a moment to realize that she was probably three ways of torn up about the chastising nature of that letter. Her look was kind of scary!
"Riwane? Hey, you there, gal?" he questioned, reaching for her.
no subject
"You alrite?"
no subject
"Ain't that a dumb question, considerin' how you look?" he replied, taking any of the usual snark out of his words. "Courteous, but dumb. I'm more worried about you. Ain't often you walk around, lookin' like yer tail's smolderin'."
Which he leaned over to check on, just to be sure.
no subject
"I'll be fine... I'm sorry hon..." And there was part of her major guilt.
"Rite now ya could be with gran watchin' yer shows an'... " she actually whimpered... which was very out of character for the fiery Charizard.
no subject
"Now don't'chu go talkin' 'bout things you can only assume." He could have been with Gran right now and he wasn't. He might never be again, which was a terrifying prospect that only made his hands shake a little.
He stuffed them in his jacket pockets.
"You don't got nothin' to apologize for, least of all for bein' sad. S'weird as it is for you, there's not a thing wrong with it, okay? Just don't go blamin' yourself for cosmic craziness out of your control."
no subject
"All that trainin'... all fur nothin'." She sighed and sat down.
no subject
He plopped down beside her, tucking his legs beneath him. "'Sides, all that trainin' wasn't for nothin'," he said, his voice softer. "Not if you read the letter. More'n that, at least you did somethin' about the situation you were in. Heck, you can still do somethin' about the situation you're in, now if you don't sit, lettin' the past drown ya'."
no subject
Instead she simply leaned against Rio and nodded.
"Eventually... we will hafta do sumthin' bout it."
no subject
It was going to be a real struggle to sleep, tonight.
"'Course we will," he said, sliding an arm around her and nestling her head against his chest. "Once we've got this show on th'road, I'll even help you train. Just...no fire spells. I need that lil', bitty handicap."
no subject
But at least Jolt was still here too, so between him and Rio she should be good as far as people picking her up.
"Maybe we can train up better." she added as an afterthought.

"Ugh. That's exactly what this situation needs, another set of spooky strangers."
no subject
"Maybe they're not strangers."
She looked over at the other trainer. "Not everyone showed up here so..."
no subject
He likewise squinted at the stadium, trying to will the headache threatening to inch forward into his forehead back to whence it came.
"If that were true, I would assume it would be part of another test of might to establish contact. Jeez. What a pain."
no subject
Her face softened a bit and she worried her lower lip a bit. "It's just a possibility but... I like it better than the alternatives."

"Yeah. I know what you mean. I guess we'll go with that, then."
