[open] Green thumbs aplenty
Who: Bulba! Maybe you!
What: GARDENING
Where: OUTSIDE
When: A few weeks in March
It was good that the weather was getting warmer. Good that the sun was shining brighter. It made it easier for the grass type to think and have the energy to pull enough on his plate so that he didn't have to think. There were more things there in front of him to concern himself with than those that had left or those that were simply... Lost on their way there.
Bulba wasn't accepting any other explanation for it, and the cherry blossoms weren't letting him think anything else.
Which meant he didn't have reason to mope about it. He certainly didn't have any time to mope about it either. There were things he could be doing, things that his borrowed hands were meant to be doing. So over the course of a few days (weeks?) he'd started doing just that.
On some days it was easy to find the boy in and around the gardens. They were overrun, but he could see their potential to be more than they were. It'd just take some work to re-work the land, shape it to what he could see. He'd be out there under the sunshine, soaking up the rays with his back as he worked the soil and mapped out the plots in his head.
Other days you could find him and his broad golden flower taking strides through the surrounding areas of the mansion, some found baskets cradled on his back in his vines. If he was going to try and build a sustainable garden, he was going to need something to put in it. Even if the trees were strange and the terrain was new, the forest would provide if he put a little trust in it. It was just a matter of going out to look.
It was all a matter of distractions, but they weren't ones that had to be alone. Bulba was certainly glad to have some company with those that wanted his.

"Thanks," he said kindly, wiping a bit of sweat from his brow on the back of his arm. Looking back over his furrowing work so far, his smile came a bit stronger with pride. "It's slow going, though. It's prepped for flowers, not food."

"Need a hand? I ain't doin' much at the moment. I wouldn't mind sum time ta work tha soil."

"I wouldn't say no to some extra muscle," he replied after a beat. Bulba took the moment to stretch his back, easing out some of his tension before he surveyed the area again. He was working on a set of rows for berries where he was, and there was a plan for a plot over... The Venusaur walked over to a wide rectangle shape he'd laid out with some stones, gesturing with the hoe.
"This is going to be a plot for some vegetables, if I can find any. Want to give clearing it a go? There were a few more tools in the shed, I think."

"Hm, this I can do! I used ta help 'round tha farm when I could! Bet Rio would love to... err well, he's more of a house feller but I'm sure he'll love this place even more once it's done!" she grinned and grabbed the tool.
"An' I'm sure everyone will be very glad ta git sum a' these growin' fur foodstuffs!"
