Blaze wasn't exactly one for scrounging, but given the state of subsistence they'd all been reduced to since coming to the mansion, she'd had to learn to make do. And one such circumstance sent her looking for towels, tarps, anything she could find to keep things dry. With the rainy season starting and seemingly never wanting to end, things were getting very damp very quickly.

Finding a storage room, Blaze rummaged through boxes, trying to find anything to fight back the encroaching moisture. But what else would she find on her search, I wonder?

"Whoa, I heard of those things! But I never thought we'd find one like this..." Sonic replies, not quite invested in the conversation yet because he's got more pressing things on his mind. Like how imperative it was that he find something to wear. Much as it would probably chafe, he couldn't count on fur and clever biology to cover him right now, and he's already heard enough of Marine's yelling.

"Can... someone throw me something?"

"Whatever it is, what's it doing here?!" Blaze demanded, fighting an urge to hide herself. She wasn't naked, but she felt so embarrassed by this, and she wasn't sure why. This wasn't her!

Although after taking a look, Sonic looked like he had a LOT more to be embarrassed over. She quickly covered her eyes, but then remembered... it's not like she's never seen him naked before. But that being said, it wasn't like they had an abundance of outfits for him. She unzipped her purple coat and slid it off, leaving her in the white unitard underneath, and threw it to him. "You can use this around your waist for now."

"Uh..."

Oh, he's grateful. There's no doubt about that. It's just that Blaze's new willowy form sliding out of that coat and leaving just s snow-white bodysuit underneath, leaves him without the words to express it. He realizes that he's staring, and takes the coat with a nod and a vague thankful noise, suddenly blushing wildly.

Marine watched the exchange and grew a little flustered. How dare they forget she's there

"SONIC!!"

She stormed over and smacked him upside the head.

"Just WHY are you blushing?! Stop looking at Blaze like that and cover yourself!!"

She turned to Rouge, still clearly peeved.

"So I'm a 'uman now? Wot, am I stuck like this forever?!"

Rouge rolled her eyes. These guys were such prudes.

She took a few steps closer and placed her hands on her hips, grinning at Sonic.

"Don't be so shy, sweetie. If you've got it, flaunt it. That's what I always say. You don't look half bad. Blaze is a lucky woman," she teased.

She gestured in a calming manner as she explained things to Marine.

"No, twerp, calm down. You should be able to change back. The process is different for each artifact, but it's easy. Now, where's the item? Let's take a look at it."

"T-that's not the point here," Blaze replied, face red, trying to divert attention away from Sonic's, er, gifts. "Look, the item is at your feet, whatever it is!" she shouted, pointing at the gem.

Aside from the quiet "Aow!" When Marine whapped him, Sonic had been peculiarly silent for a while. He isn't sure which was more surreal; the fact that he was now human and so were most of the others, or the fact that Rouge was complimenting him on it... He does his best to wrap the coat around him as a makeshift purple kilt, and then tries to stand up.

The operative word here, is TRIES. To best describe his first attempts to get to his feet, first imagine a newborn giraffe, and then give it nitrous oxide. He wobbles and lands on his nonexistant tail, tries again, and thankfully synapses reconfigure in a hell of a hurry for him, and he gains his balance after about twenty seconds.

"Does it have anything to do with the way it triggers in the first place?" Wobble, step. "Because it didn't even do that until I fell on it off that pile of boxes."

And that was when he DID have proper motor coordination.

Marine was miffed. Answers weren't forthcoming as quickly as she'd like and she was growing very impatient.

Ignoring Sonic's plight, she stomped over to the gem, snatched it up, and carried it to Rouge, shoving it into her hands.

"Yeah, yeah, alroight already! Quit dawdling and start explainin', ya scrub!"

Rouge giggled at Sonic's bumbling.

Upon contact with the gem, Rouge FWASHed into her own human form. Once the bright light subsided, she blinked the shock out of her eyes and looked down at her body, curious as to why her top suddenly felt unusually tight.

"Well, my my my, look what happened," she said with a distinct lack of surprise. "I guess that answers that question." And apparently her human form was just as busty as her bat form, if not more so. She adjusted it to cover more of her breasts to spare the others more awkwardness.

"Every transformation artifact is different, Sonic," she continued. "I've seen some that activate with a simple touch and others that take some epic concentration of chakra or some nonsense like that. It seems as though this one is pretty straightforward. And I find it ironic that the speed demon prime himself is having so much trouble simply standing up in human form," she said, grinning widely.

Sonic blushes even more hotly than before, and for more than one reason. Rouge being a pretty human girl, and pretty-human-girl Rouge giving him that backhanded compliment on his speed.

"I'm getting used to it! These legs're really long, that's all." He says to defend himself, trodding in place and examining said legs, one at a time. "So, what, we just touch it again to turn back?"

Blaze jerked back a bit as Rouge just... grabbed it, knowing full well what it could do. "How can you be so nonchalant about that...?" she asked. "Doesn't this weird you out even a little?"

Marine nodded furiously at Blaze.

"Finally! Someone ELSE thinks this Sheila's not making a lick of sense!"

"As I said, every one is different. I don't know what triggers switching back to our original forms. A friend of mine turned back through force of will, or something along those lines. He said he just focused on a feeling he had before he transformed that he no longer felt and BOOM, he grew his tail back."

Rouge inspected and fondled the gem. Decent weight. Good clarity. Turns people human. It might be worth snatching for her collection when no one was paying attention.

"It's easy to be unconcerned about something when it's intrinsically harmless, sweetie," she told Blaze dismissively, still fiddling with her newest object of her affections.
