Blaze wasn't exactly one for scrounging, but given the state of subsistence they'd all been reduced to since coming to the mansion, she'd had to learn to make do. And one such circumstance sent her looking for towels, tarps, anything she could find to keep things dry. With the rainy season starting and seemingly never wanting to end, things were getting very damp very quickly.

Finding a storage room, Blaze rummaged through boxes, trying to find anything to fight back the encroaching moisture. But what else would she find on her search, I wonder?

The door into the storage room slammed open to reveal a very soaked, very grumpy raccoon.

"CRIKEY!! This bloomin' RAIN!!" Marine shouted, nearly straining her voice. She sloshed in and kicked the door closed behind her, flicking rain water off her arms and hands angrily.

"I don't mind a bit o' water, but I'd like to remain dry for longer than three minutes!!"

"Oh come on, Marine, it isn't so bad." Sonic chimes in, following the racoon inside. He notices a cushion that had the misfortune if being under a ceiling leak, and picks it up, wringing about a liter of water out of it with an unimpressed look.

"Yeah okay, so maybe it IS that bad." He concedes, but his mood changes when he notices Blaze behind a pile of boxes.

"Hey gorgeous!" Sonic scrambles into the boxes over her and jerks a thumb at Marine. "Yanno, if you're looking for a wet blanket, there's one right over here."

Things were so quiet just a moment ago... She jumped when the door slammed open, but caught herself quickly and recomposed herself. Even if her tail was still standing at attention.

"Hi, Sonic, hi Marine," she said with a small smile. "I think there's far too many wet blankets around here already. I was hoping to find something to dry up with. But now that you're both here, you can give me a hand."

He grunts thoughtfully. "Well... Alright. I'll look around up here."

He leans against a box, still standing atop the pile and decidedly not looking around yet.

"Say, Marine, maybe you can find the parts for some kinda turbo-drying gizmo in here too!"

As Blaze spoke of sifting through loads of boxes, Marine scrunched up her nose. Eugh, so much work! But Sonic's mention of gizmos caused her to change her tune.

"Strewth!? I KNEW there'd be something useful in 'ere! Maybe I can find some materials to fashion a new energy converter..!" she exclaimed before practically diving at a cluttered stack of boxes, determined to emerge with "that final piece" she'd been hoping she'd find in the future.

Blaze rolled her eyes. She had a boyfriend who seemed determined not to do work, and a friend who seemed determined to make a mess. But she wouldn't have had them any other way... She cracked the smallest of smiles at the thought, as she got back to her own searching.

But when she opened one of the boxes, something strange caught her eye. A glint, that the low light of the room amplified off of cut and polished surfaces. She curiously reached in and drew out...

"A Chaos Emerald...?" she asked. It sure looked like one, but it wasn't any color she recognized. It was... pink??

That makes Sonic's ears perk up. He leans precariously above her to get a better look, still in top of the box pile.

"Hey yeah! That sure looks like one, anyway! It's kind of a weird color though, and I don't feel any power from it."

Nothing he could identify as a chaos emerald, anyway. There was SOMETHING there, but he can't really get a sense of it yet...

"If I've got the Chaos Emeralds and you have the Sol Emeralds, then maybe this is one of the ones for this world?"

Marine stopped her box shuffling to listen in on her friends.

"Wot? EMERALD?"

Without hesitating, she ran to Blaze's side, shoving Sonic out of the way. She snatched it up and held it out in front of her to better look it over.

"Croikey, it sure is a shiner, innit? It must be worth heaps!"

It wasn't just him she shoves; when she tramples over and through part of the box pile he's perched on, it loses what stability it had. While she's admiring the gem, Sonic wobbles on his crumbling perch for a single moment, bristling and wide-eyed as he realizes what's happened, and then starts to topple over with comical slowness.

"Whoa whoa whoa WHOA--"

Look out below! Hedgehog and boxes incoming!

"It could be," Blaze replied. "I'd never even considered that this world would have it's own--"

She was cut off by Marine barging over to do her own investigation. And in the process, causing the box stack to topple over, with Sonic right on top of them.

"MARINE!" Blaze shouted, grabbing on to her to try and shield her from the falling debris. But as she took hold of Marine, the gem in her hand started to glow, brighter and brighter, until the light enveloped all three of them...

Sonic had been quick to rummage for some clothes once he got his feet under him properly. Between the rest of the boxes in storage and some dusty old wardrobes in the mansion, he'd found a beaten-up pair of trousers, so frayed that he had to slice them off at the knee, and a belt to make sure the stupid things stayed on.

He'd already come to the conclusion that he hates wearing clothing, but that was probably because of a bad first impression. Few things in the universe feel worse than putting on chilly, water-soaked pants.

"Hey guys? Where's Rouge?" He finally asked, trundling out of the bedroom after changing.

Wave had excellent timing. Except not at all. Because as Sonic emerged from the room, he ran right into the bird. She looked the new face up and down, then smirked. "Lose something, cutie? Looks like you got stuck here too. Shame..."

Was... Was she flirting with him?

It sure looked like she was.

Marine ran up and situated herself between Wave and Sonic. Between suddenly turning human and not understanding it one bit, Marine's fuse was pretty darn short. And she looked it, too.

"RRRRR!! YOU!! Don't flirt with Sonic!! 'E's not yours to flirt with!! Roight, Blaze?" Marine beckoned Blaze nervously, silently pleading for backup.

"Back off, Wave," Blaze added, frowning at the obvious attempt to flirt with her boyfriend. She put her hand on Marine's shoulder to get her to stand down, however, and added, "This really isn't a good time."

Wave was irked by people telling her what to do, and it showed. "Okay, so you know me. What did I do to piss all of YOU off?"

"It's US, Wave!" The hot blue-haired dude finally says. The fact that Wave would EVER be attracted to him had left him a little dumbfounded, let alone the fact that he's human now. Sonic's going to have a lot of things to think about tonight.

"We, we found a gem of some kind and somehow it turned us all human! I hate to break it to you, but I'm really Sonic!"

"...That's... What..." Wave was dumbstruck. How did this happen? What could have made them turn human?

...Why was Sonic so HOT?! Was he always that hot and she just never noticed?! She'd have some things to think about later. But for now, she was just confused as all get out.

"Then the rest of you are..."

Rouge was growing pretty tired of all this damned confusion. Everyone turns human when you touch the gem. How hard is that to grasp?

"Oh, to heck with it!" Without warning, she chucked the gem straight at Wave, clocking her square in the cheek. "It's us, you dimwit!"

"Wh-- HEY!"

The gem collided with Wave, and much like it did with the rest, it changed her as well. Where the purple bird stood, now there was Shantae a purple haired human girl with darker skin. "Wh-- What did you do to me?!" she angrily demanded, whirling to Rouge.

Rouge was surprised by the sudden arrival of two more of their friends. Geeze, this supply room was a magnet for Mobians somehow. At this point, she wondered who else might appear and join the havoc before these human gem antics were over.

The implications of Wave's tone weren't lost on her, however. It was already such a cluster already. Who knows? Knuckles might wind up sexier than Sonic.

"Look familiar, don't we?" she asked the newcomers rhetorically. "I'm not even going to bother to explain. You'll understand soon enough."

She couldn't resist. In the blink of an eye, she scooped up the gem at her feet and pitched it in Knuckles' direction.

Marine rubbed her head and cursed under her breath. The collision had knocked her to the floor and she was still regaining her composure.

"Ugh, NOW what? Watch where you're going, ya dunce!" she barked while she rubbed her eyes.

She let out a squeak upon realizing who she'd bumped into. She also turned bright red.

"T-tails!! What're you doing here?" she stuttered as she shyly covered her (clothed) chest and waist. "Duh-don't look...! My fur is missing!"

"I guess maybe a little--Whu?!" Knuckles blurted out. His train of thought was derailed by the white haired woman throwing a pink gem at him. Out of instinct he reached out to catch it...

...And suddenly in his place was a tall, very buff, very naked man.

"...What the heck?!" He shouted in shock, tossing the gem in the air...

...and right at Tails.

"I-I'm... What... Sorry...?" He was so confused, but he was about to get even more confused. A pink gem sailed through the air and beaned him right on the head.

That was enough to turn Tails into a confused naked human, rubbing his head for the welt that was surely forming. "Ow! What was... That... What happened to me?!"

Sonic makes a small disgruntled noise in his throat and leans on the doorframe with a thump, facepalming.

"Aw jeez... better cover up, guys." He warns.

Her view from the ground gave Marine a much closer view of Tails'... changes... than she wanted to be. She let out a high-pitched scream and covered her eyes with her forearm.

"No, not you, too!!"
