Open log: A wild Carnival Night Zone appears!

Who: Anybody bold enough to jump through a mysterious warp ring.
What: A giant carnival zone!
Where: In a pocket dimension, nearby island, or just AU, depending on how serious you want to take it.
When: Now?
Warnings: F for FUN!

 

Without notice or explanation, a giant, spinning gold ring had appeared at the edge of the island. Through the center one could see what looked like roller coasters, carnival games, and lots of balloons, among many other things. Timing a jump through the ring was tricky, but doable.

 

A mysterious spacial distortion obscured the area beyond the carnival. Anyone hoping to escape the mansion entirely would find it was hopeless through this warp ring. However, the entertainment value probably seemed tempting to anyone growing restless with nowhere to go. Why not grab a buddy and have some fun?

Their eyes met. Her heart pounded. She took Gordon's hands with her own, and said simply, "Oh GOD yes."

He steals a kiss. "Ha, I knew it!" And he steps out of the coaster car with one of her hands still in his.

This would be the second in several turns on the roller coaster, to say nothing of the spinning rides around it!

Shantae the adrenaline junkie was having the time of her life hopping on whatever rides Gordon suggested, and she almost didn't want it to end. Eventually she had to take a seat on a bench, laughing in her excitement when they finally took a break. "This day has been AMAZING, Gordon!" she told him with a beaming smile. She leaned back on the bench, chest rising and falling as she caught her breath.

She looked up at him and smiled. When they first met, her initial impression of him was a stuffy scientist. But he turned out to be so much more than that. He was passionate, fun-loving, and absolutely at home wtih all the weird. He indulged her in all her curiosity and thrill-seeking, with a smile and a laugh. She brushed some strands of purple hair out of her face, as she looked him over, thinking over her options. She leaned foward onto her elbows. "But you know what? I can think of one way it could be perfect," she told him. "We could, you know... go back to the mansion and finish what we started in the tunnel?" she offered with a wink. Perhaps it was the adrenaline making her feel more adventurous. Whatever the reason, she really wanted to be close to him again...

He'd thrown himself onto the bench next to her, arms draped over the back, head back, letting his breath slow. Hell, in a way he kind of relished the weird. He's never going to say that he was glad that the resonance cascade happened back home, but he can honestly say that his Mondays have never been dull since.

His eyes open again when she says that, and he picks up his head to look her way. She was beautiful, fun-spirited and oh-so-unusual, and keeping up with her was a delightful challenge that he doesn't want to end. And she trusts him enough to...

He swallows and adjusts his glasses. "You're right. That WOULD make it perfect. Come on, let's go home."

Huh. He just mentally called the place "home." He'll have to think about that later.
