Well, summer was approaching. The days were getting much warmer. And there was a surefire way to beat the heat just outside the mansion. Whoever lived there previously clearly enjoyed swimming, because next to the hedge maze and surrounded by a wall was a very large, very ornate pool. And after the TLC the cleaning crew had given it, it was ready to accept swimmers. There were floating mats, lounge chairs, and a small assortment of water toys for those who wanted to mess around. There was even swimwear available! Conveniently, in a locker by the pool, there was a swimsuit for everyone, just your size! That was weird, wasn't it...? 

Well, time to get some chill. Into the water!

Who has two sneakers and isn't getting in the pool?

THIS HEDGEHOG!

Sonic is content to goof around on the deck of the pool instead, running around, occasionally grabbing something from the food tables, playing some land-based games or catching a nap in the shade. Bother him?

Blaze was such a cat. A bright sunny day, and all she wanted to do was just bask in the sunshine. Which she did. Sunglasses on, by the side of the pool in a red one-piece that didn't exactly leave much to the imagination, much to her chagrin. But beggars couldn't be choosers... She rested on a lounge chair. She had no qualms about going for a swim, but she was just so comfy...

Blaze didn't wear red much. This was a shame as far as Sonic is concerned, because she wore that red swimsuit extremely well. He screeches to a halt able whistles quietly.

"Heeeeey, izzit hot out here, or is it just you?"

Blaze never really considered herself "hot". She had some self-image issues, and it was just never something she would have said to describe herself. But Sonic was always honest around her. And if he said he thought she was, then perhaps there was something to it.

Blaze chuckled, tugging her sunglasses away from her eyes, looking right at him, and saying, "Can't it be both?"

"YOU TWO!!"

A stern-sounding Aggron called from the opposite side of the pool. He wasn't wearing a swimsuit--in fact, he seemed a bit afraid of the water. Still, he carried a flotation device around his shoulder and appeared to think he was the appointed lifeguard anyway.

"...Wear your sunscreen! Skin cancer is no joke!"

And with that, he went back to shouting orders at other swimmers.

Knuckles floated by in the pool, staring up at the hedgehog. "Hey, Sonic! Water's fine!" he taunted, head bobbing just above the surface.

"Nnnnah I'm good staying high and dry, thanks. Besides, I think you're displacing enough water for the both of us."

"What's the matter, don't wanna get your quills damp?" Knuckles teased, grinning and splashing some water in Sonic's general direction.

"HEY, YOU!!" shouted the Aggron.

"No splashing!"

Aaaaaand back to watching the pool like a hawk. Pool safety is srs bzns.
