An oddly catchy tune is heard faintly in the air [Open]

On a silent yet windy night, an odd tune can be faintly heard being carried by the winds. Familiar to some, this tune seems oddly melancholic and seemingly coming from outside the main Mansion grounds. Oddly enough it seems to stop for after a while and never heard again.... Until the next night. Where exactly is it coming from? Care to explore and find out?

Blues was atop a tall tree looking over to the distant building. It had been the only one he had noticed on this floating island since his arrival. Sure he had spotted others on far away islands, but as far as he'd seen, this one only housed the particularly large Mansion. This was where he had last felt Rock's presence and was determined to make sure his sibling was okay. "What did you get yourself into this time Rock..."

That was some nice whistling. Whoever was doing it was very talented. Rene set out to find whoever it was and maybe get some pointers.

Hm, was that a human approaching? Blues hadn't seen them before, at least not the last time he visited the place his brother was holed up in. They didn't look threatening so he didn't think much at first. But he never was to let his guard down so he'd study them for a bit before takign action.

Once he was noticed they didn't seem to be doing much but searching, he called out from the shadows.

"You seem lost. Looking for something?"

"Oh? Are you the one who was whistling?" She turned in the direction of the voice. "If so then I'm looking for you!"

His eyes narrowed, not that you could tell behind his visor, and he looked them over. "Oh yeah? And why would that be?" He was already readying his weapon but wasn't aiming. It could just be curiosity, but you never could be too sure.

"You're really good at it!" Wait, was he-- Best not to call attention to it, but she prepared to reach for her weapon if need be. "I was hoping you could teach me how."

That... was an odd request. Blues eased a bit, but still not a fool enough to completely let his guard down. "You want me to teach you how to whistle?"

"Yeah! It'd be fun, and like I said you're really good at it."

[ineedabreakman]

... Was this human for real? Well... Can't say it wasn't better than being besieged so at least a non-aggressive surprise he could deal with. "Umm, sure kid. Though, I'm not sure if a human will be able to produce the same sound. Give it a try and I'll see what we can do."

Oh, he wasn't human? She figured she should know better than to assume by that point. "Ok..." And she tried. It was far more watery than could be considered proper whistling.

Rock knew that sound. He'd heard it many times before, and it meant only one thing. Rock went searching for the source of the whistling as soon as he became aware of it, but the first night he failed to find him. Roll was here... Did that mean...?

"Blues...?" he called out hesitantly, as he tried to track the source of the whistling.

His sensors picked up on Rock as soon as he came looking the second night and he couldn't help but smirk a little at knowing his data was correct and that he had ended up wherever this was. After a beat, Blues jumped from his tall tree and landed close to his brother, standing straight to look at him.

"Seems like you ended up getting whisked away again little bro."

[megabuster]

Whatever reaction he was expecting from Rock, it probably wasn't what he actually got.

"...Blues!!" Rock exclaimed with a big smile, running up to him and hugging him tightly, as if he hadn't seen him for months. Which, as far as he was concerned, was true. "What are you doing here?!"

[ineedabreakman]

"Whoa whoa!" Blues flinched and was going to push away but all things considered? There you go Rock, a nice brotherly head pat and hair ruffle.

"I was tracking you down. You kind of disappeared from the last place without a trace and I couldn't even pinpoint that at all. Took me a long while to finally find, well, whatever this place is." He nodded to the general direction of the mansion.

YEAH WELL TOO BAD BRO. You're getting a hug whether you like it or not.

When he finally let go, he looked quizzically at Blues. "Well yeah, but... How did you even figure out where 'here' is? Nobody's been able to get out, or send any messages outside..."

[ineedabreakman]

"I got my resources." he said plainly, looking distant for a moment. "No promises of getting back though, but I already knew that. Which is why I figured, hey, might as well help you find your way back out of whatever this is."

[megabuster]

"I see..." Blues followed him here... But what if Dr. Wily attacked while they were all gone? With him, Blues, and now Roll here...

"Is Dr. Light okay?" he asked hopefully. "And everyone else? Are they safe? Auto, Dr. Cossack, Kalinka..."

Blues paused, a scoff escaping his lips before he looked away and giving a shrug. "They're alright." And considering how Rock usually thought... "And don't worry, they'll be alright, things have been quiet for a while now."

When she heard the whistling coming from the trees in the distance the first night she ignored it, thinking that the owner probably wanted to be left alone. On the following night the somber tune drew the curiosity out of her and she was off taking a stroll through the mansion grounds to find out who or what it belonged to. The closer she neared to the source the more visibly interested she appeared.

Blues had kept an eye out for the girl the moment she came into his sensors. Didn't seem hostile and was more than likely being drawn by curiosity rather than anything else judging by her actions so far. That was fine, humans were... Well some were good he supposed.

"It's not safe to wander the woods alone you know." He voiced in a non-threatening manner, more curious than anything else, from atop the branch he had been standing on.

Lux's head jerked up to the boughs of the tree where the voice carried from. She tried to get a good look at the figure hidden int he branches while nimbly twirling her baton between her hands.

"Oh, I'm not afraid of the dark." She paused and smiled. "Should I be?"

"Nothing in the dark that should be feared that already isn't in the light." he responded as he jumped down as to not be too rude. Once at the level witht he human, he had a better look at her. "You're from the mansion over there I suppose?"

"You could say that, though I don't think any of us are really from the mansion." She took a moment to study him, peering at his dark visor as if she could see beneath it.

"I haven't seen you there, however. Do you live in the forest, only coming out to serenade us mansion-dwellers by moonlight?"

"Another one dragged along huh? Figures... S'far as I've seen, can't help but notice no one's really a native so far. None that I've encountered yet."

The latter comment does make him smirk. "Seems to be good enough to grab attention I guess. Though it was more for me than anything else and no, not from the forest. Arrived not long ago looking for someone and ended up here." He shrugged.

"Not that I've seen either, which raises a whole host of questions about our roles here," she said, tapping a finger against her chin. "Why are we here? Who was responsible? If this place existed previously to our arrival, complete with man-made structures, what happened to those before us?"

Lux gasped and clasped her hands together. "Oh, it's like the quandary of human existence all over again! Isn't it exciting?"

Whoa lady, calm down! Blues blinked behind his shades at the energetic beaming of the human. Though, something of it was endearing he supposed? He however, keeping to his nature, shrugged. "I suppose. I'm sure there's plenty of brainies out there who'll be looking into solving all those questions."

He had enough on his plate exploring his own existence.
