Okay. Okay, her latest invention probably had a few kinks to work out. Building an interdimensional portal was turning out to be a bit more art than science, but what kind of experiments didn't have a few minor setbacks here and there? Like, you know... getting stuck on the other side of a portal she opened in space and time. On the plus side, it worked! On the negative side, the portal closed before she could get back to her workshop. Great. Just great.

A short, curvy goblin girl with wild strawberry blonde hair stood in the middle of the machine shop in the mansion. Nobody else was up at this hour of the night, which was perfect for her to get to work without interruptions. She unshouldered a bazooka on a strap, lowered a pair of goggles into place, and set to work, rummaging through the materials she could find, trying to pick out anything that could be used in her new invention. She needed to build a way to get back to Azeroth! There was money to be made! Unfortunately, despite her desire for privacy, she wasn't exactly quiet or gentle about what she was doing, tossing parts around and making quite a lot of noise, both of machinery and of cursing.

Ryzey's head poked out of a pile of scrap metal when she heard someone else arrive. So much for her alone time. Now who the hellLLO THERE. Her eyes lit up when she realized that the person who had arrived was an Orc. A drop-dead SEXY orc to boot! She grinned broadly. "Looks like I'm not the only one stuck far from home," she commented, leaning against a metal plate. "Ryzey Goldfuse. Goblin tinkerer extraordinaire. Who're you, cutie?"

Her face visibly dropped when she said 'stuck far from home'. Sighing a little she placed the plate on the nearest workbench and crossed her arms. "Stuck, yeah. For a really long time now too..." She wondered if time worked the same in this place as it did home and if not, how long had she really been away from home?

The way she presented herself though did make Ronnae a bit happier, she definitely seemed Azerothian now. "Ronnae, Ronnae 'Mash Belore Ryllos," she bowed, an unusual cocky smirk playing on her features for once but amongst engineers it was always super needed and super fun to bounce around your achievements. "Grand Illustrious Master Engineer with specialization in Mechgineering and Magitek." Yeah, she was clearly proud of her achievements!

"That's quite a mouthful," Ryzey commented with a smirk. "Not used to orcs having such wordy names. But good on ya for your engineering chops! Right good profession." Her eyes scanned Ronnae up and down, taking stock of the arrival. "So how'd YOU get yourself stuck here? Me, I got a little too confident with an experimental dimensional gateway. Word to the wise, any time you poke open a door, you gotta make sure you leave your foot in the doorway before it closes."

"Well, that'd probably be because I'm a half orc and my other is elven... Sin'dorei to be more specific." She looked a bit embarrassed hoping there was no judgement due to her heritage. But at least the shop talk was keeping her on a more relieved emotion.

"Well, portals will always be tricky to work with. Can't say I've ever had the pleasure of having one that worked 100% accurately. Something's always bound to happen, just gotta hope that the something isn't too bad, or worse, permanent." She'd had some nasty run ins with portal experimentation.

"Huh. Yeah, that explains a bit," she replied with a nod. What difference did Ronnae's heritage make to her? She was open minded enough. "But orc and elf? Dangerous combo. Dangerously good looking," she teased.

"Testing was working well enough," Ryzey said before going back to dig in the scrap parts. "Small objects? No problem. Jumping through myself worked just fine. But the system shorted out and closed the portal on me before I could get back through." She tossed a piece of metal aside. "I could whip up another one in no time. Only problem is, I can't find any of the parts I need... This all you've got to work with?"

The compliment brought a small blush to her face but considering it was from a goblin she was very used to them being wordy and talkative for the sake of their personalities so she wasn't thinking too hard on that. What did catch her attention was the testing.

"Yeah I can see that. I've gone through similar situations while testing my devices... And as far as supplies this is as much as we've been able to scrounge up from the surrounding areas." She sighed a little bit. "And fair warning.... things don't work normally around here and getting a portal back home from here might not be as easy as we could hope.... Believe me, I've tried."

"That's fine, I love a challenge," Ryzey commented with a devious smirk. "But limitations like this could be a problem... Not even a trading post around that takes gold? This really IS a whole new world. Course that means if I wanted, I could corner the market..." She shrugged. "But at least being stuck here won't be a TOTAL waste of time, if it means you and I get to work closely. Very closely," she teased, just loving getting a rise out of the orc girl. That blush was adorable, and she loved flexing her flirting muscles. Kept her sharp for when they were useful in negotiations.

"Not a thing," Ronnae commented a bit sadly. "Corner the market would have a totally new meaning... you'd BE the market." she half joked half sighed since it technically was true. "At least as far as we've explored anyways."

As the flirting got more direct, Ronnae's face reddened more and she shifted a bit sheepishly in place, now averting her gaze away from her. "I, uh.... y-yes I mean, working together would mean better ch-chances at success."

"Sounds like a good business opportunity to me," she grinned. "Though... The people here DO have gold, don't they?" A very goblin question to ask. Just gotta be sure.

She winked at Ronnae, seeing that her teasing was getting the desired result, and climbing out of the debris pile to step closer to her. She was shorter than Ronnae, as goblins usually were, and she looked up, offering her hand. "Sounds like a deal to me, sweet-cheeks."

A very goblin thing to ask indeed, profit matter very highly on the list of important definitely needed things list for goblins. "No, not as far as I know. They did used to have currency before we all got thrown into this dimension but there's always trade. At least that's how it's been done so far if anyone wanted exchange of goods that weren't just given to the community."

Ronnae was by not means tall, being a shortie herself but still taller than the goblin for sure. It did bring a small timid smile to her face, seeing even more Azerothian's gave her hope that at the very least, this world was linked with home and that meant there was a chance. She offered and placed her hand on hers for a nice handshake. "D-deal."

"Ugh..." Ryzey rolled her eyes. "No currency? Great... I guess I COULD set up a... barter system..." The thought was anathema to everything she'd ever been taught. But if there was no currency here, a smart business goblin would have to learn to adapt. Despite how unpleasant it was.

Ryzey smirked up at Ronnae. Up close she was even more well built than she thought seeing her from afar. And the shy look was cute on her... "So tell me, what're you doing here at this hour? Looking for a bit of alone time?" she suggested deviously.

"Barter systems were the originators of currency, it's really not too bad." she shrugged. So far there really hadn't been a particular need for currency. Most of everyone was happy to lend or gift or donate items needed around the place, but there had been some who traded items that were more comodity or luxury, so there could really be a market for a goblin she thought.

"Huh? No, n-not really. I was just working on some more tinkering and trying to convert more junk into useful items. Mostly rebuilding our stock of necessities and transmuting the scraps into usable parts and sprockets and such."

"I get the need for some privacy while you work," Ryzey said, shrugging. "I do it all the time in my own workshop." But she followed it up with a playful elbow to Ronnae's side, smirking. "Also helps when you want a bit of 'privacy' to take care of other business," she suggested, looking forward to seeing Ronnae's face darken again.

"Privacy yes, it... it does help to keep up with focusing on the tasks at hand." She replied trying to turn it into a less flirty conversation since the follow up made it certain that her new friend wasn't referring to privacy for work and it cause her face to surely darken further with the heavy blushing it induced.

"Yeah, I bet it does help you focus," she smirked broadly, Ronnae's attempt to make the conversation less flirty only making things worse. This was far too fun for the goblin, who needed a good mood lifter after being stranded here.

"Huh?" You lost her Ryzey, or she at least pretended to be lost not wanting to dig herself deeper.

"A-anyways I... I had just stepped out to grab a snack and some coffee before working for a bit longer then turning in for the night... There's enough there if you're hungry? I could also go and cook something more up if you need more too."

"I'll tell you when you grow up," Ryzey teased with a laugh. "If you got any more coffee, I'll take some of that," she suggested, going back to her debris pile. "What kinda grub have you got in this place?"

That did get a rise out of Ronnae whose face reddened but she turned away a bit embarrassed. "Y-yeah, I have some more. And as far as food there's plenty of vegetables, we have a decent farm now outside thanks to some of the people here. As far as meats we've managed to hunt down quite a bit so our stores are fairly good."

"Least there's something decent here," she replied with a nod. She took a look back and noticed Ronnae turning away in embarrassment. Now it was time to figure out just what her deal was. "Lord you're a shy one, aren't you?" she asked. "Don't tell me you don't like talking about more intimate things."

"A-ah no, that's not it. It's... I'm timid by nature, not by inexperience. You d-don't just blurt out those things you know!" she meeped sheepishly. "Besides, I mean, we just met and I was t-trying to be a good host... I mean, not... many people from home here and all..."

"I do," Ryzey corrected her with a chuckle. "First thing you're gonna have to learn about me, I like to speak my mind. Don't worry, you're doing just fine as a host. You are just WAY too adorable not to tease."

Ronnae's blush was going nowhere at this rate and from the looks of things the goblin gal wasn't going to quit so she just accepted it. "Right... t-that's not something I haven't heard before." She sighed and shook her head. "As long as you're comfortable and hopefully adjusting to what just happened, then at... at least I know I've been doing alright." Because at least she knew Azerothian's came mostly with tough skin, she knows Ryzey would roll with the blows and adjust. We all have had to many times.

She shrugged. "I've seen weirder," she said. "Besides, ingenuity's gonna win the day. It always does! Every problem has a solution."

"It's been trying..." Ingenuity, that they had in bounds with the astute denizens of this place. It wasn't lacking and still.... and still they remained stuck in this place.

"Hopefully a new set of hands will help out."

"Then luckily for you, you've got the best set of hands on Azeroth. And I know my way around machines too," she grinned, unable to resist getting in another flirty remark at Ronnae's expense.
