Rainy Day Fun

What: Rainy Day Moments

When: During one or another of the aforementioned April Showers.

With all of this rain, it's likely that people will be stuck inside. When people are stuck inside, they mope about, looking for things to do.

Thankfully, I am here for you. I have a fine collection of men here for you. Here are some things that these fine, upstanding young men might be doing on a rainy afternoon or morning or evening or week.


Max: Max would have cobbled together some makeshift weights in the last couple of months, if none better were present. You may meet him indoors lifting heavy things up and down. You may also meet him in the kitchens eating all of the food. 9000 calories a day is hard to eat.

Bowser: Bowser enjoys sleeping, making messes, rummaging through your personal items, and long walks on the beach. Also, boardgames. He's surprisingly charmed by boardgames. He cheats at them. But he plays them.

Jock: Jock would work out with some of Max's weights, enjoy cuddling as a giant fluffdog, play with a ball, chew a bone, hug a friend, eat a lunch, make a giant mess cooking enormous amounts of meat, and look outside at the rain through a window and whine softly.

Hagakure: Hagakure would be searching through the house looking for strange objects, checking up on his many rocks, reading books about chickens, practicing his divinations, writing future wiki-updates in a journal, and not doing anything useful at all. Not even a little bit.

Rene had spent most of her time in the kitchen, preserving and arranging and cleaning up after everyone. Even after having asked Raymond to teach her how to cook shortly before graduation, her focus was on food preservation and jarring.

And there were an awful lot of open jars around.

"Hey! That's a lot of food there! Save some for everyone else!" she shouted.

"I gotta eat 9000 calories a day," came the response.

It was, technically, true. Max was a well-oiled machine whose oil was technically calories. "Can't help it."

"No you don't. Now put it back."

Wow, rude.

"Uh, actually, kid, I do, so I'm eatin' it." His arms are larger than your waist, child. You cannot possibly hope to convince this wall of man that he needs to eat less.

Her own experiences with gigantic men was basically limited to Raymond, but he only ate as much as anyone else did. Of course, he HAD taught her how to cook so he could have been making his own food when no one was looking. But not THAT much more!

"There has to be enough for everyone. What are you doing to fill the kitchen back up again?"

When Rock was feeling better, and his form shift was working again, he changed back to robot form. Human form was neat, but after feeling trapped in it for a while, he wanted to feel something familiar again. He had gone back to work trying to keep the place as dry as he could, even if it was like trying to hold the ocean back with a single solitary sand bag.

He found Max lifting his makeshift weights, blinking curiously. "Where did THESE come from?" he asked.

"Made 'em," said Max. "Outta stuff I found around. Leftover rocks from that one guy's rock thing, buckets, iron bars, stuff."

He then continued to do decline bench press with the world's most ersatz lifting equipment. It was odd to watch a man so top-heavy resting on a bench made to have his legs elevated above his head, but by gum, he was doing it.

"Um... I don't mean to question your craftsmanship, but are you sure that's safe? Or healthy?" Rock asked, looking very wary of what he was witnessing here.

"It's a decline bench, kid. It shortens the distance between my chest and the top of my range motion. It emphasizes the chest and de-emphasizes the triceps in the bench press movement."

Because Max needed more chest, clearly.

Well why not. It had been a while since Cyrus had been able to enjoy himself, and a game like Trivia Chase was just the thing to do it. He started to set up a board, and looked around for someone to compete against.

Bowser was around. Bowser saw a board game being set up. He lumbered over.

"I want to play as the car," said Bowser. "Or the green piece. Or the one who get to go first."

He's very accommodating.

Oh, the...actually Cyrus wasn't sure what exactly Bowser was. The old teacher. "If you wish to go first, simply request it. There is no need for duplicity."

"Great, so, uh," said Bowser looking down at the game. "How do you go first?"

This is going to be really good.

Rain Day Fun with Jock

Did someone say cooking large amounts of meat?

You know what that means.

"Did you know that there's like an entire freezer full of bear meat in the kitchen?" said Jock, his mouth watering visibly, and having to wipe some excess drool off with the back of his hand. "Do you know what we could do with that?"

"Make a truly epic meal?" Jolt asked, as if it were a question that needed asking.

"BBQ on BBQ on BBQ," said Jock.

"I just wish Sonny was here to see it."

Rainy Day Fun with Hagakure

Rosalina happened upon Hagakure in the middle of his divination practices, and looked down curiously at him. "What are you doing?" she asked, tilting her head.

"Telling the future, pretty lady," said Hagakure. "I'm Japan's most celebrated and accurate psychic."

"A very impressive title," Rosalina said with a smile. "And what do you see in the future?"

"Hayabusa Ready Go is going to win this year's NHK Mile Cup, dude," said the psychic who was divining the winners of a horse race he couldn't possibly bet on.
